Technophilia
We are technology enthusiasts. We love getting our hands dirty and tinkering. Because of our experience with (literally) dozens of platforms, we can make intelligent decisions about the right tool for the job. We are not platform zealots, but there are a few guiding principles we follow:
- Don't rebuild the wheel. There is an incredible global community that works on some of the best code ever written and makes it available for free. Avail yourself of this valuable resource.
- Don't repeat yourself. If you can spend a little bit of time today to make sure you don't have to do the same task tomorrow, write modular code that can be reused. Share it! (See above.)
- If there isn't a good way to do it, build one.
- Open your technology. Make it easy for users to integrate your products within their existing setup. It'll add value to your products and to others' whose services have learned to play nice.
- Follow standards; don't reward bullies. We believe that a monocultural Web is an impoverished shadow of what it can be and the underlying technologies of our products are built on an intimate understanding of client idiosyncrasies and the right ways to address them.
